Why The Stinger exists

Independent media can hold institutions accountable, bring overlooked people and places into focus, and report the texture of a story that can disappear when journalism is reduced to a headline. The Stinger was built to notice what is happening on the ground and tell it clearly.

The perspective behind it

Liam Anderson brings a background in architectural engineering, design and sales to the newsroom. That experience shapes an eye for places, systems, people and the details that make a city feel alive. Austin is home, and The Stinger approaches Texas with curiosity, independence and a willingness to look twice.
